Summary Statement: The position of the Grounds Keeper position is to provide students and employees with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to work, learn, play, and develop.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain tools and equipment; keep such in safe operating condition.
- Keep work area in a clean and safe condition.
- Fill holes, lay sod, other general lawn care, planting of flowers, mulch.
- Must patch blacktop.
- Must install school signs.
- Lay-out and lining of all athletic fields.
- Must operate a vehicle with a tag-a-long trailer.
- Load and unload equipment and supplies.
- Haul cafeteria and other supplies from storage areas and cold storage, and school storage to all school owned property.
- Must report any damage to school owned property.
- Deliver risers, chairs, wrestling mats to and from all buildings when assigned to do so.
- Assist in snow removal.
- Must be capable of following work orders accurately.
- Must have knowledge of the “Right to Know Law”.
- Work and practice safety at all times.
- Must work with all trades/labor crew.
- Perform all of the general labor work required.
- Must complete any job assigned to him/her by Supervision.
Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Posses a good working knowledge of equipment used on your job. Have mechanical abilities to enable you to repair equipment. Valid PA driver’s license.
Required Skills and Knowledge:

9) Must be able to operate different size trucks.

18) Uses older stock first.

20) Is careful not to place supplies or equipment unsupervised in the areas where they might be insecure or cause safety problems.
Hourly Rate: $25.80 (increases to $26.80/hour after a 1,040 hour probationary period)
