Summary Statement:  The Food Service Inventory Supply person is responsible for working efficiently in order to maintain financial stability and effective service in the Food Service Operation.  They must assist each school cafeteria in meeting their needs.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Delivers food and supplies to each school safely and when necessary.
  • Receives and transports daily school deposits to the bank.
  • Maintains accurate record keeping of warehouse inventory.
  • Follows Board of Health regulations with regards to temperature control of the Central Warehouse and Freezer.
  • Maintains accurate records of storage and freezer temperatures in Central Warehouse.
  • Follows Board of Health regulations when delivering food supplies to schools.
  • Assist the Food Service Supervisor in determining food service supply orders.
  • Load and unload Food Service equipment, food and supplies.
  • Will accept of delivery of food and supplies to warehouse and freezer then store in proper locations.
  • Must check all Food Service deliveries to Central Warehouse for damaged products.
  • Keep food Service Central Warehouse and freezer clean, organized, and free of debris.
  • Shall observe areas where help is needed and do whatever is necessary to expedite.
  • Shall display an attitude of cooperation and accommodation to all co-workers, students, faculty and administration.
  • Shall perform other tasks and assume other duties as needed or as assigned by the Food Service Supervisor.

Other Duties:

  • Uses proper food safety handling procedures.
  • Avoids unsafe practices that can result in injury.
  • Follows proper lifting procedures.
  • Operates all equipment safely and according to instructions when available.
  • Assumes responsibility for the vehicles, tools and equipment under his/her areas.
  • Assumes responsibility for the opening and closing of the District Food Service Central Warehouse and Freezer.
  • Maintains Warehouse and Freezer temperatures according to the Board of Health regulations.
  • Assumes responsibility for checking deliveries made to Food Service Warehouse and Freezer.
  • Assumes responsibility for the receipt and transportation of daily school deposits to the bank.
  • Guards against waste of fuel, water, and electricity.
  • Uses older stock first, practicing FIFO procedures.
  • Maintains and cleans equipment regularly.
  • Is careful in the use of supplies and equipment to avoid unnecessary loss or damage.
  • Responsible to report any damage of school district property.
  • Maintains an accident free driving record.

Required Education: High School Diploma

 

Must have a valid driver's license and be capable of operating school vehicles for hauling, etc.

 

External Candidates will be required to provide mandatory clearances. This includes the Act 34 (State Criminal Clearance), Act 151 (Child Abuse) and Act 114 (FBI Clearance). All Clearances must be within 1 year.
